Remote Start FAQ's:

Q. Will a Remote Start System void my new car warranty?
A. NO.  We install remote start systems for many of the area car dealerships. When properly installed, today’s remote start systems are fully compatible with the complex electronic systems in newer vehicles.  Federal Law prevents an auto manufacturer from voiding a new car warranty because you chose to have non-factory accessories installed.  For more info, Google Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act of 1975.
 
Q. How long will it take?
A. Installation time varies greatly from vehicle to vehicle.  Please make arrangements to leave your vehicle with us for an entire day.
 

Q. What should I bring with me?
A. Please bring two ignition keys that will both start the vehicle.  Many of the interface modules require two keys for programming.

Q. My car is a stick shift.  Can you install a Remote Start?
A. YES!  We have remote starts designed to work safely on stick shifts.  There is a small additional charge for stick shift vehicles.
 
Q.  I have a diesel engine.  Can you install a Remote Start?
A.  YES!  We have remote starts designed for diesels.  When you activate your remote start, it will wait for the glow plugs or manifold heaters to turn off before it attempts to start. 
 
Q. My key has a chip in it.  Can you install a Remote Start?
A. YES!  We have the proper bypass module for almost all vehicles. These bypass modules are only activated when you remote start your vehicle. So, when you vehicle is sitting in a parking lot, the factory anti-theft system is still fully functional. Caution .. Many shops will bypass the factory anti-theft system all together to save a little work!

Q. My vehicle has a push-button start (Smart Key).  Can you install a remote start?
A. YES!  For most Smart-Key / push-button start vehicles, we are able to install a remote start.  There is a small additional charge for these vehicles.
 
Q. How long will my vehicle stay running?
A. The run time is programmable. Please speak to your salesperson for more details.
 
Q. Can somebody take my car while it is remote started?
A. NO.  If your car is locked, it will remain locked.  The steering wheel and shifter (automatic trans) will also stay locked.  Most importantly, you must insert your key in the ignition before you can drive away.  If anyone attempts to drive away without the key in the ignition, the engine will shut off as soon as you put your foot on the brake pedal.
 
Q. How much will I save if I install it myself?
A.
 Because of the complex nature of Remote Start Systems, we do not offer them for sale without installation.
 
 

First, I wanted to get my windows tinted for a few years, but didn't want to spend the money I was quoted by a few places, so, after I went to Extreme Audio to inquire about an alarm, I saw they did the windows too.... They were a hundred fifty+ less expensive than my other quotes, plus, the tint film they use offered great UV protection (which keeps the heat out), and I was totally stoked when I discovered how much COOLER the car was with their tint on the windows. Hot sun all day, with a sun shade in the windshield, and the water in the car is still COOL, after 8 hours!!! The alarm, which was the basic alarm, (I wished I had gone for the remote starter, for a few bucks more....) was installed in exactly the time they said it would be, but the windows, much faster than expected, on a separate day, so I have to say, I am EXTREME LEEEEE satisfied with both the services.... THE BEST part...??? An alarm system/lock/unlock, and awesome windows tint for 400 and change ....! (I mean REALLY....??? Peace of Mind, a super loud ALARM, blue light alarm indicator, with a FREEKIN' MILE-esq range on the alarm remote....Installed, for 200$$$.......??? Some spend that on nothing, in a weekend.... This was some of the BEST $$$$ I have spent !!!) Perhaps after I start working again, I will upgrade to the remote start.....(and part of the amount that I paid was because they had to unwire, and remove, an old alarm system, "pre-me".) I have returned twice to have them look at the alarm, once for nothing other than I was clueless, and today, because I managed to somehow manhandle the remote and set it in Valet mode...... both times, the guys were pleasant, and the attention was free... I recommend EXTREME AUDIO, highly, for BOTH price and a job well done! Thanks Guys, for a job WELL DONE!
